LOUDOUN, VA — As many look forward to this weekend to travel, shop, and grill, let us not forget the true purpose of this Memorial Day. It’s a time to honor those who have made the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the blessings of safety, liberty, and democracy. As a military brat, my father served in the U.S. Air Force, and I have a profound admiration and thankfulness for those who paid the highest price.

They fought for a cause greater than themselves, and they left behind a legacy of courage and service. Let us not take their sacrifice for granted by living each day with gratitude and purpose. Let us cherish the values they defended. Let us be inspired by their example, and strive to make our world, our nation, and our community in Loudoun County a better place.
